With the exception of humans and schnauzers, most animals don’t grow moustaches – and many may think that is a good thing!
And while most horses are somewhere between baby-faced and five-o’clock shadow in the facial hair department, some have been found able to grow a lot more than just whiskers.
Seemingly found mostly in heavy horses (those descended from horses that pulled plows and carriages) horse moustaches are the real deal. Draft breeds, like shires and gypsy vanners, are known for their ‘feathers’, the long flowing hair around their lower legs, and equally impressive manes and tails. But sometimes there is more to come – right at the end of their noses.
